Recruitment can be a quite exciting time for all of Greek life, as we have the chance to add new members to our chapters and enhance our organizations. In order to achieve this goal, several guidelines must be followed and severe consequences will be enforced for any/all chapters that fail to abide by such regulations. First and foremost, recruiting with controlled substances (i.e. drugs and/or alcohol) will not be tolerated. As active members of Greek life, we not only represent The University of Tampa, but also the integrity of our fraternity. Fraternities that are found responsible for recruiting with controlled substances will be reported to The Office of Student Conduct and their national organization will be contacted.
Additionally, “dirty rushing” is not permitted. For those unsure of what “dirty rushing” is, it can be defined as any member of a chapter issuing a bid to a new member prior
to rush week. The goal of fraternity recruitment is to collectively recruit men into our community. Rush week for the fall 2010 semester will begin Monday, September 6th. Any fraternity caught issuing bids/holding individual rush events prior to this date will be referred to the IFC Judicial Board/OSLE for further examination. Finally, hazing of any sort will not be tolerated. This packet is intended not only to discuss the guidelines for the fall 2010 recruitment process, but also to provide an overview of events that will occur. During the first week of
school, the University of Tampa’s Interfraternity Council will host several events informing incoming students and unaffiliated fraternities, which include:
students about Greek life and the five IFC
Theta Chi ΘΧ
Sigma Chi ΣΧ
Sigma Phi Epsilon ΣΦΕ
Pi Kappa Phi ΠΚΦ
